Thanksgiving Postcard
This event is an independent function and is not related to, nor sponsored by, nor controlled by the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist.
This annual Thanksgiving concert is a Milwaukee tradition. The concert will feature the Bucks Native American Drumming and Singing Group, Milwaukee Children’s Choir, Milwaukee Choral Artists and the Present Music Ensemble. The MCA and the PM Ensemble will present the Midwest premiere of John Tavener’s ravishingly beautiful Come and Do Your Will in Me. . MCC’s Jubilate group will be singing selections from Psalm Trilogy (translation) by Srul Irving Glick featuring a string quintet by the PM Ensemble. Artistic Director, Kevin Stalheim has decided to revive a PM favorite, John Adams’ Shaker Loops. PM has performed this piece twice before: first at the 1992 Thanksgiving concert and again at the 1997 Season Finale concert with John Adams as guest conductor.
